Shakespeare’s Playground: A Creative Journey for Young Actors (Grades 3-8)
Step into the world of the Bard! This six-week course is not just about reading Shakespeare—it’s about feeling it. Designed for students in grades 3-8 program invites young actors to bring the magic of Shakespeare to life through play, curiosity, and high-energy exploration.
We move beyond the page, diving deep into the text through:
Movement: Using our bodies to tell stories, build characters, and inhabit the worlds of kings, fools, and fairies.
Voice: Discovering the rhythm, power, and musicality of Shakespearean language, and learning how to project our own unique voices.
Body: Connecting our physical presence to the big emotions within the text to truly understand the impact of these timeless stories.
This is a space to explore, experiment, and discover how Shakespeare’s words can mirror our own experiences. Whether you are a seasoned performer or stepping onto the stage for the very first time, come find your voice and have fun discovering the heartbeat of the theater!

Showcase for friends and family will be held
The The class times will be Saturday, October 3 October 10, October 17, October 24 October 31 and their showcase will be November 7. Class times run 930 to 11 and the showcase will run 10:50 AM

Clifton Performance Theatre Youth Ensemble Present: Sleepy Hollow
Are you ready to take your acting to the next level? Our intensive conservatory is designed specifically for young actors ages 10–17 who are eager to refine their skills and explore their unique voice in the industry.
Our intensive conservatory approach is designed specifically for young actors who are eager to refine their skills and explore their unique voice in the industry.
We believe in the power of focused, personalized training. By keeping our class and cast sizes modest, we ensure that every student receives the individual attention needed to grow. Throughout our six weeks together, we will dive deep into:
Foundational Growth: Strengthening acting techniques, voice, and speech.
Physical Expression: Exploring movement and body work to expand your range.
Dynamic Performance: Engaging in both contemporary and classical scene work.
Professional Development: Building a platform for your future as a pre-professional actor.
The second half of our program will be dedicated to bringing a fully staged production of Sleepy Hollow to life. This unique, ensemble-driven production will feature movement-based storytelling, body percussion, and live musical accompaniment. (If you play an instrument, please let us know during your interview!)

October: 5, 8, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26, 29
November: 2, 5, 9, 12
Performances:
Friday, November 13: 6:30 PM
Saturday, November 14: 6:30 PM
Sunday, November 15: 2:30 PM (Matinee)

Program Requirements
Ages: 10–17
Commitment: Full availability for the rehearsal schedule and performance weekend is required.
Interview: Following registration, students will have an interview so we can learn more about their current strengths and artistic goals.
24 hours of teaching + three days of performances.
All costumes and needed items for their characters and productions included.
